• No explanation was written in the Log or Muster book as to the reason for his death.
• He is recorded from 14 April to 4 August 1742 as an able seaman on the muster book of HMS " Namur ".
• The National Maritime Museum in London has 27 watercolours by him, several of which are mounted on sheets from 18th century printed signal and muster books.
